The United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs (USAIGC) recently participated in the first South African Gymnastic Challenge in Johannesburg (Centurion) on Feb 20-22, 2014. Centurion Gymnastics hosted the competition between the South African International Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs (IAIGC). The competition included gymnasts from three clubs from South Africa and five clubs from the USA.

South Africa has been represented at the USAIGC World Championship since 2003 and wished to host a USAIGC/IAIGC International Gymnastics Challenge. USAIGC President Paul Spadaro stated, “We were excited to be able to bring our USAIGC gymnasts to South Africa for an experience that we will all remember for a lifetime. For our gymnasts, parents, coaches and administration, we are thrilled to have experienced this incredible multi-cultural journey. It was a wonderful opportunity that demonstrated how competitive sports can bridge cultures and allowed us to promote our World Championship Competitive Program with an international College Bound Competitive Program.”
